Venue Hire

St Barnabas Church Winchester has three spaces which are available for private venue hire for meetings, parties, receptions and private events.

Church Hall

Our largest room comes with an attached kitchen area and has a seated capacity of approximately 80 (maximum over all capacity 100).
Fee: Hall with use of the kitchen: £20/hour.
Full fee is due at least two weeks in advance. Charity rates available, please ask.
Current availability:
Mondays, 7.30pm – 10.00pm
Tuesdays, 6.15pm – 10.00pm
Wednesdays, 6.15pm – 10.00pm

Trussell Room

Room suitable for meetings and small gatherings, can accommodate approximately 15 seated.
Fee: £16/hour.
Full fee is due at least two weeks in advance. Charity rates available, please ask.
Current availability:
Mondays, 2.30pm – 10.00pm. All day from January 2024. Trussel Room
Tuesdays, 9.00am – 6.00pm. Trussel Room
Wednesdays, 1.30pm – 10.00pm. Trussel Room
Fridays, all day. Trussel Room.

Fromond Room

A smaller room suitable for meetings, can accommodate approximately 12 seated.
Fee: £12/hour.
Full fee is due at least two weeks in advance. Charity rates available, please ask.
Current availability: None. Fully booked.

Outside spaces

St Barnabas has an internal quadrangle between the church and hall mainly laid to lawn. There are also large areas of grass around the outside of the building.

Should you wish to use the outdoor spaces please contact us. St Barnabas is situated in a residential area and naturally we expect anyone using out site to be considerate to our neighbours.

Church

In special circumstances the church itself may be available for private use at £20/hour. Please contact the Parish Office to enquire

Please note:

    • Live bands, catering and audio/visual set up can be easily accommodated but need to be organised by you
    • All rooms have level access with disabled, ladies’ and men’s toilets situated in the foyer.
  • Baby changing facilities are provided in the disabled toilet.
  • Large round or long folding tables and stacking chairs are available.
  • Bookings can be made for day times Monday to Saturday and evenings Monday to Friday. Bookings cannot be made for Sundays as all rooms are in use by the church.

On The Day

On the day of your event our room bookings co-ordinator or another church key-holder will meet you to hand over keys, show you where equipment such as tables and chairs are kept, give a fire and safety briefing and answer any questions which may arise. They will return promptly at the end of the booking to receive the keys and to check that everything is in order.

St Barnabas does not hold a license for the sale of alcohol.

There is limited parking at the front of the church. With prior authorisation church and hall users can also park on the grass at the front. Otherwise unrestricted parking is available on neighbouring streets – please be considerate to our neighbours.

We expect all users to return the hall and rooms to the condition in which they were found on arrival. This means cleaning up any mess or spills, removing rubbish, washing up and putting away any kitchen items used, collapsing any tables and returning them to their storage space, stacking chairs etc.

The person making the booking will be liable for any damages or loss of equipment or keys (changing locks and reissuing new keys).
