Junior Church

groups for different age groups every Sunday during the 10.45am Encounter Service.

Springs and Streams

For all children there are various toys set out each week and time for free play.  This term the older children in the group will be looking who God is, each week looking at a different aspect of God, finishing the term with the Easter story.  This will be at a level which is appropriate to their faith and understanding.  We will be looking at various different Bible passages.  If you would like to know more about what the group have been doing, please speak to the group leader.

Rivers

This term we will be exploring the stories of different people who encountered Jesus and what their experience of him was.  At the end of the term, we will look at people from the Easter story who encountered Jesus.  I have listed a Bible reference for each story so that you can look at the story with your children if you would like to.  Some weeks there are various passages that could be used, please speak to the group leader of you would like to know more.

Rapids

Rapids is part of the Junior Church at St Barnabas. Rapids is open to anyone of Secondary School age (currently including Year 6s too) who wants to explore more about the Christian faith, go deeper into the Bible and find support and lots of fun getting to know new friends. The sessions are a safe place for young people to explore the Christian faith and prayer and worship. It includes games, videos, discussion and creative activities. At each session there’ll be opportunities to ‘chat, catch and pass’ all that God might want be saying to us, as well as outrageous games and fun activities. We’re encouraging all young people to bring their own Bibles for each session (please ask one of the team if you need one to call your own). The Rapids programme will be printed and available for every member and will also be in the youth newsletter along with all the other youth related info for 2017.  Do get in touch with Ellie should you have any questions: youthstb@gmail.com
